Hall of Fame Class of 2015
*Founding member of ARFC*
Eric began his rugby career in 1975 at East Carolina Univ as a Second Row. From there Eric spent time in Breckinridge, CO playing with the Gentlemen of the Blue Goose club as a Flanker. Coming home to Asheville in 1983 and missing the rugby pitch Eric posted flyers around town trying to get other likeminded folks together to form a team.
The first call was from Leslie Roland (see Bobby Roland – HOF 2015). Eric played for the ARFC regularly until he was 40 yrs old in 1996 having spent time as Prop, 2nd Row, Flanker, no. 8. If wondering about the Flex nickname then you should have been there for every match when he would disrobe and trot around shirtless to give the ladies a show. Of Eric’s fond rugby memories they include waking up underneath a foosball table in Aspen, and beating the Charlotte Olde Originals in 1987.
